Okay this week I happened upon an old friends’ documentary, "Going to pieces, the rise and fall of the slasher film".

Produced and written by Mike Bohuscz…back in 2006…

Which came first the bite or the fright…

Just finished watching shark week. …(Which seems to be on every week)…

If you ever want to drop a bomb
on a summer outing at the beach… just say…
“Hey Emily, nice bikini, nice tan, and oh by the way,
    watch out for sharks!”

When was the last time you went to a horror movie and were actually frightened out of your wits?

I don’t mean the fear that comes from some filmmaker's jacked up digital volume, so as to give you instant heart attack, or slam cutting 3D images into your face, so you jump out of your seat like a lab rat.

That’s manufactured fear…the kind that fades as soon as you take your first bathroom break.

I’m talking real, visceral, primal fear…the organic kind that comes from within…the kind that haunts you long after you leave the theatre… that skewers your thoughts, and leaves you with that knawing dread, that maybe… just maybe… what you saw on that big screen tonight, might have followed you home…and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it… and no way you can hide or rationalize why your eyes are still wide open at 3 AM in the morning!
